Reviews Overview

Most Liked

People rave about the affordability and portion sizes at Cheung Kee, with many dishes falling under the $20 mark. The beef noodle soup, especially on weekends, garners high praise for its rich flavor and satisfying warmth. The coffee milk tea stands out with its strong, rich taste, satisfying those who crave authentic Hong Kong beverages.

Another highlight is the variety available on the menu. Diners appreciate the selection of small plates, perfect for sharing or sampling multiple tastes at once. The fish cake soup frequently receives compliments for its deliciously unique flavor profile. The egg pudding is a simple yet delightful dessert, adding a sweet finish to any meal.

Most Disliked

Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews, a few common concerns pop up among diners. Some note that visiting during the evening can lead to limited menu options, as popular items often sell out by 6 pm. This is a point of frustration for those planning to stop in for dinner after work.

Additionally, while the casual atmosphere appeals to many, some patrons may find the space a bit cramped during busy hours. This can make for a less enjoyable experience if you're hoping for a quiet meal. Lastly, a few diners have expressed a desire for more dessert options, as the current selection is limited compared to the savory dishes.

A small shop but the food was actually good. The beef noodle soup on weekends was excellent. Fish cake soup and signature soup both were good in different ways. The egg pudding was smooth a bit sweet for me but yummy. The coffee milk tea, was rich and strong. Better avoid going in the evening as I did the first time and not much was left around 6pm.

I love Cheung Kee, I’ve been going once a week for the past two months, and it’s consistently hit the spot. My personal favourite item being the pepper beef bowl set, never have I ever had a problem with food, it’s always amazing and massive portions. The service is also great the owner is a great man. 10/10 must try spot.

True hidden gem for HK eatery style food. The owner/chef does everything by himself, thus the service can be a little slow, but he made sure everything was done in perfection. We had chicken steak on rice, the rice combined with the side pickles topped with deep fried chicken and drizzled with homemade sauce, it was perfect! My wife had the wonton noodle, the broth was homemade, not overly salty like most other wonton soup, very enjoyable. Didnt have chance to take picture of the food..
